TÜV Informationstechnik GmbH (TÜViT) is a specialist in the area of information and communication technology. As a provider of trust for IT security and IT quality, we focus on assessing, testing and certifying any kind of IT products, IT systems and IT processes which have to be compliant to specific requirements (eCompliance).

TÜViT started up in 1990 as the Institute for Information Technolog (IIT) of the Rheinisch-Westfälischen Technischen Überwachungsvereins e.V. (RWTÜV e.V.), a German inspection agency based in North Rhine-Westphalia. In 1996 the IIT was accorded the status of a separate company as a subsidiary of the RWTÜV and was renamed TÜV Informationstechnik GmbH.

Since the merger of TÜV NORD and RWTÜV in 2004, TÜViT is part of the TÜV NORD Group.
