The Initiative

The initiative IT Security made in Germany is an association of German IT security companies. The initiative's intention is to support the cooperation between German IT security solutions suppliers and partners in foreign countries. It is a network of manufacturers, system integrators, service providers, research institutes, and public services.

Both, the Federal Ministry of Interior and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology support the association. This international partnership network enables German IT Security companies to use the instruments of the external trade promotion and bundles the export control of the Federal Government.

It establishes a network of these German companies with authorities of the federation, in order to use existing public services efficiently for the development of foreign markets in the target regions, i.e. the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Eastern Europe.

The network covers the leading German enterprises whose solutions portfolio includes crypto technology, trusted services (PKI), secure service providers, biometric systems and systems integration. The network is open for further German IT security companies.

The Objectives

  • To create a platform that will induce more intensified export cooperation and resource bundling by involving the Federal Ministries and their support potential

  • To ensure that customers (both public and private) and possible technological cooperation partners on the international markets increasingly realise the sector's overall competencies

  • To create a consolidated forum with information about markets, competition and calls for proposals

  • To create an efficient interface between the companies and the support offered by public authorities
